LPN Outpatient - Cardiac Surgery

The LPN Outpatient provides practical nursing support in a physician practice or clinic setting, assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, and coordination of services. Collaborates with healthcare providers and team members to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This position is full time, working Monday‑Friday 8a‑5p.

• Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, chief complaint, and medication reconciliation.
• Prepare patients for provider evaluation, including specimen collection, positioning, and assistance during exams and procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, including treatment updates, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns.
• Provide patient education related to medications, treatments, and follow‑up care as directed by the provider.
• Assist with referral authorizations and pre‑authorizations for tests and ancillary services.
• Maintain exam, treatment, and lab areas in a clean and safe condition and ensure supplies and equipment are available.
• Perform laboratory‑related tasks, including specimen collection, preparation, and basic testing following appropriate training and quality standards.
• Perform radiology‑related tasks, including assisting with imaging procedures and ensuring proper safety precautions and documentation.
• Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and proper handling and disposal of specimens and materials.
• Support telehealth services, including tele‑retinal and tele‑dermatology setup as applicable.

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or a new graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
• No prior clinical experience required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Limited Radiologic Technician license required for roles performing radiology functions.
• Current American Heart Association BLS‑HCP certification.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to problem‑solve and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems.

Compensation Range: $21.61 – $30.25 per hour. Pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.
