CVT I - Cardiac Cath Lab - CNRVMC
Come join the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC). We are conveniently located in the New River Valley, where you will enjoy hundreds of outdoor adventures, vibrant arts and cultural activities, University (Radford University and Virginia Tech) sporting events, and a broad range of live music venues. This is a full-time position, offering flexible scheduling, allowing for 5 eight-hour shifts (Monday-Friday) or 4 ten-hour shifts each week with rotating weekday and weekend call requirements.
On call requirements: 8-10 days per month including weekends.
Assists physician with direct patient care during catheterization or interventional procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions. Delivers quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Provides direct assistance to physicians and patient to achieve optimum outcomes. Prepares patient and technically advanced equipment for advanced invasive procedures. Scrubs and assists physician during procedures. Advises and plans with physicians on procedural strategies and supplies. Assists in emergent conditions.
- Assures patient, physician, and team needs are met during procedure. Serves as patient advocate, advising on medication for patient needs. Obtains and sets up procedural supplies and equipment. Operates x-ray equipment and administers medication under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician. Uses advanced critical thinking skills to manage emergency situations.
- Monitors and interprets EKG and hemodynamics during procedures. Inputs data from patient history, labs, and current case proceedings including equipment/supplies and documentation for various databases, moderate sedation, pain management, and medication administration. Performs advanced data manipulation to obtain value areas, shunt calculation, and cardiac outputs in the Cardiac Catherization Laboratory. Performs advanced data manipulation to assist with electrophysiology studies and ablations.
- Participates as part of procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, closure site care, etc. Participates in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education.
- Contributes to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission. Actively participates in obtaining desired service line outcome.
Compensation Range: $30.47 - $45.71
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
