RN - Cardiac PCU

RN opportunity in the Cardiac PCU within 6 West Medical Cardiology. Full‑time day, evening, or night shift with weekend rotation. The position is located at 1906 Belleview Ave SE, Roanoke.

• Consistently deliver high‑quality patient care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy.
• Coordinate and provide individualized nursing care for patients of all ages, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
• Administer treatments and medications accurately and document them using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
• Provide timely patient and family education, incorporating educational needs into the care plan.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and revise age‑specific care plans.
• Participate in performance‑improvement initiatives and serve as patient advocate and protector of patient rights.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients across the lifespan.
• Utilize delegation, critical thinking, and problem‑solving methods to support evidence‑based practice and improve patient outcomes.
• Manage resources, prioritize tasks, and modify the care environment to meet patient needs.
• Assist in orienting new staff, provide feedback, and contribute to unit and hospital activities that influence practice and environment.

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing from an accredited college or an approved program eligible for the VA licensure exam.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• Must hold AHA BLS‑HCP; may be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP based on specific unit needs.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system.

$33.52 – $50.28 per hour. Pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience; range excludes benefits and pension plan.
