- Assumes accountability for coordination and delivery of individualized patient care across all age groups.
- Participates in the Nurse Residency Program to develop clinical judgment, critical thinking, leadership skills, and professional confidence.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
- Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
- Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
- Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
- Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
- Demonstrates developing clinical expertise in dynamic care environments.
- Implements strategies to support patient outcomes and efficient care delivery.
- Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
- Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
- Participates in orientation, training, and professional development activities.
- Provides feedback and contributes to a collaborative team environment.
- Participates in unit, hospital, and system initiatives supporting shared decision-making.

- Education

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required. - Experience
:
None required. - Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
:
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required with less than 1 year of experience. For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within 1 year of hire and maintained. - Life Support
: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area. - Other Minimum Qualifications
:
Must attend required Nurse Residency Program sessions. Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.
RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.
Compensation$33.52 - $50.28 per hour.
