Sign on Bonus Eligible. The 7M Medical Specialty Unit is a specialized 12‑bed inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders. Our team delivers evidence‑based, compassionate care focused on assessment, stabilization, treatment, and recovery while supporting patients through some of their most challenging healthcare journeys.

The RN provides professional nursing care to patients across all age groups, supporting patient‑centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and high‑quality patient outcomes.
- Provide individualized patient care and coordinate care delivery for patients of all ages.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Complete and document age‑specific assessments to support development of care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
- Administer treatments and medications accurately and document care in electronic medical records.
- Identify and address patient and family education needs.
- Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
- Advocate for patients and support their rights and psychosocial needs.
- Apply knowledge of growth and development to provide age‑appropriate care.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in dynamic and changing care environments.
- Implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
- Serve as a role model and support development of peers and team members.
- Manage resources, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing patient care needs.
- Support orientation and training of new employees.
- Use problem‑solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
- Provide feedback and participate in shared decision‑making activities.
- Support education activities within the department.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
- Current registered nurse license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- AHA BLS‑HCP required; additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
- Keyboarding skills and computer literacy, including use of electronic medical records.
- For behavioral health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.
$33.52 - $50.28 per hour based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. This range does not include benefits or pension plan.
