Level I Trauma Center
Construction of a new ED to be completed within 2025
90,000 annual ED visits
Currently 85+ bed adult Emergency Department
10 bed pediatric Emergency Department servicing a Level III NICU and PICU
1 of only 3 Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Centers in Virginia

As a registered nurse, you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other. As part of the health care team, RNs assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages.

The registered nurse also utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.

• Age specific admission and ongoing assessments are completed, documented and used to develop a plan of care.
• Collaborates with members of the health care team/patient/family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care. Revises plan according to changes in patient status.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in order to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to service area.
• Treatments and medications for patients of all ages are accurately administered and documented utilizing automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.

Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.

Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.

New grads welcome; prefer 1 year of acute care.

Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.

Bachelors Degree preferred.

20 bed Medical Cardiology Progressive Care Unit

Acute Myocardial Infarction, Hypertensive Crisis, Unstable Angina, Arrhythmias and Congestive Heart Failure as well as post procedural patients such as Cardiac Catheterization, Pacemakers and Left atrial appendage procedures.
