Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Our skilled nursing facility is seeking a dedicated and clinically skilled Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring residents with wounds, ensuring the highest level of care while promoting healing and preventing skin breakdown.
ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide wound care treatments, dressing changes, and skin assessments.
Monitor residents for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies.
Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation staff, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention and treatment protocols.
Participate in quality assurance and infection prevention initiatives.
Current Virginia RN license in good standing.
Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, or equivalent) preferred; certification required within a designated timeframe if not currently certified.
Previous experience in wound care, long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of skin integrity management, pressure injury prevention, and infection control practices.
