The 7M Medical Specialty Unit is a specialized 12-bed inpatient unit dedicated to providing comprehensive care for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders. Our team delivers evidence-based, compassionate care focused on assessment, stabilization, treatment, and recovery while supporting patients through some of their most challenging healthcare journeys. Staff on 7M work closely with Physicians, Registered Nurses, Therapists, Case Managers, Addiction Specialists, and Behavioral Health Professionals.

Together, we address acute medical needs while providing behavioral support, medication management, discharge planning, and recovery-oriented treatment.

The Manager, CMC Nursing Operations provides 24-hour operational leadership for nursing units, ensures alignment with organizational goals, supports staff engagement, and drives execution of departmental objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• The Operations Manager has rotating 24-hour accountability and responsibility for a direct care nursing unit/area providing a link between daily operations and achievement of organizational goals.
• Provides day-to-day leadership for successful implementation and execution of goals, action plans, and objectives for the department.
• Communicates, organizes, prioritizes, leads, facilitates, coaches and problem solves with reporting staff to ensure that goals and objectives are met.
• Works with other department leaders to carry out new health care services and performance improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of a department as they relate to goals and objectives.
• Coordinates resources to provide adequate staffing for department.
• Responsible for day to day monitoring of department budget, monitoring of expenses, and engaging in cost containment ideas.
• Responsible for supporting facility and organization mission, goals, values, and scorecard objectives.
• Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with standards and which is respectful of patient's rights.
• Participates in the hiring and onboarding of new staff. Manages and maintains unit schedule with a focus on appropriate staffing mix to meet unit needs.
• Facilitates and coordinates daily Interdisciplinary Rounds to ensure efficient unit throughput.
• Collaborates with medical staff to ensure effective and quality patient care. Escalates concerns to Nursing Unit Director as appropriate.

Education:

Graduate of school of professional nursing. BSN required. For Non-Magnet Facilities - BSN is required within 18 months of hire/transfer.

Experience:

At least 2 years in a clinical nursing role.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, de-escalation training must be successfully completed within 4 months of hire and then maintained going forward. Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. May be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.

Compensation Range: $89,232.00 - $

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
