Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Outpatient Behavioral Health Carilion Clinic | Tanglewood
- Roanoke, Virginia Full-Time | Day Shift | Outpatient
As part of Carilion Clinic's behavioral health team, the PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and ongoing medication management for patients in the outpatient setting. You'll work alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other behavioral health professionals to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities include:- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Diagnosing and treating behavioral and mental health conditions
- Providing medication management and ongoing follow-up care
- Developing individualized treatment plans
- Collaborating with physicians, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Educating patients and families and supporting them throughout the treatment process
- Maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Appropriate Virginia licensure and certification, or eligibility to obtain
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team

Carilion Clinic

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program required. PMHNP preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred. Additional experience may be required based on specialty.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Nurse Practitioners must also hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia. Must be eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required as appropriate to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or Nursing, and applicable certifying bodies. Must meet practice and managed care credentialing requirements and qualify for malpractice insurance coverage.…
