Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting required. License:
Active state nursing license required.

Certifications:

ACLS, BLS required. Must-Have:
Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures, including left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions, and stent placement.

Experience with monitoring hemodynamics, dysrhythmias, and procedural sedation. Knowledge of isolation precautions, sterile techniques, and emergency medications. Ability to return to the facility within 30 minutes when called.

Description:

The position requires working 4x10 hour shifts with on-call responsibilities. Each clinician is expected to take seven on-call shifts and five late shifts within a six-week period. One full weekend of on-call must be scheduled together, while remaining weekday call shifts can be taken individually. One Saturday shift for elective cases is required during each six-week period. Holiday availability is required, with one holiday being worked within a 13-week contract.

The cath lab serves adult patients, with a daily census of 15-20 in six procedure rooms. Common patient diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, and heart failure. Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, and mitral clip procedures. The unit is equipped with IABP, Impella, and various advanced cardiac catheterization technology. Clinical skills necessary for this position include scrub experience and cardiac monitoring.

All required charting must be done using the Epic system. Interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory services and rapid response teams. Candidates must have experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings. Adaptability to a fast-paced environment is essential.
