Role Overview
Quality Analyst II at Modea bridges complex technical requirements with the end‑user experience, ensuring product quality through investigative consulting and deep analytical thinking.
Responsibilities- Strategic Risk Analysis: learn the product, identify potential risks, and consult with clients and teams on quality improvements.
- Critical Issue Diagnosis: use exploratory testing techniques and analytical thinking to find and investigate root‑cause bugs across browsers and devices.
- Quality Advocacy: serve as the primary advocate for the end‑user, ensuring functionality, design, and ADA accessibility are maintained.
- Performance & API Integrity: design and execute performance tests with JMeter and validate API communication between services.
- Security Fundamentals: evaluate web applications against core security principles to identify vulnerabilities.
- Automation & AI Integration: create and maintain automated test suites with Mabl and Appium, while applying AI‑assisted tools to optimize the testing lifecycle.
- Technical Communication: author clear, reproducible bug reports and technical user guides, translating complex defects into actionable items.
- Process Leadership: oversee the use of quality best practices across the SDLC, ensuring specifications are met from discovery to post‑launch.
- 2+ years of context‑driven testing experience or equivalent education.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Analytical Depth: strong critical thinking and test‑design skills to navigate conflicting priorities and diagnose complex product issues.
- Consulting Mindset: ability to communicate testing concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders and influence product direction through data‑backed insights.
- Technical Versatility: deep understanding of development and design languages, API structures, web security, and automated testing patterns.
- Methodical Precision: commitment to high standards and focus in structured, technical environments.
- Experience with in healthcare or consulting agencies.
- Experience with JMeter for performance benchmarking and familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Foundational knowledge of web security fundamentals, accessibility guidelines, and automated test‑suite maintenance.
- Hands‑on experience with modeling, test design, and mind‑mapping.
- Experience with Rapid Software Testing (RST) and AI tools to enhance testing workflows.

Employees may work remotely from Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina, or in the modern office located in Blacksburg, VA. A hybrid setup is supported, with occasional travel for training or client visits.
Physical DemandsDaily work involves prolonged computer use, maintaining a stationary posture, and occasional movement of items up to 10 lbs.
