What you will do

As a Connected Technologies Account Executive, you will sell high‑level integrated low‑voltage technology solutions to contractors, consultants, and owners in the building industry. You will focus on creating smart‑building environments across a variety of projects.

  • Report to the Connected Technologies Sales Manager and drive sales of large‑volume, integrated technology solutions for new construction and renovation building projects.
  • Promote the JCI value proposition to executive‑level contractors and security consultants, offering comprehensive solutions for business, operational, and protection needs.
  • Build and manage long‑term customer relationships with key general contractors, architects, engineers, and security consultants.
  • Actively pursue opportunities with non‑key and non‑target owners for security construction projects and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long‑term relationships, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities.
  • Use sales tools to plan, document progress, and increase opportunities within accounts.
  • Leverage monthly checkpoints to secure progressive commitments from customers and expand the breadth of offerings.
  • Select customer pursuit teams for major opportunities by combining members from outside the area and Systems teams.
How you will do it

Utilize your experience in solution selling and technical knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS), Security, Fire, IT, AV, and other low‑voltage technologies to engage decision makers and drive business growth.

What we are looking for Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus.
  • Five to seven years of progressive field sales experience at the C‑level.
  • At least three years of experience in the building technologies or construction industry; construction industry knowledge is a must‑have.
  • Excellent initiative, interpersonal communication, and cold‑calling skills to generate new business opportunities.
  • Ability to assess building technology needs, design, and present turnkey security solutions to owners, architects, and consultants.
  • Experience in the traditional plan & spec bid and/or design‑build markets, with a demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the construction process of buildings and at least one low‑voltage building technology (BAS, fire, security, IT, AV, nurse call, structured cabling, or specialty low‑voltage/communications systems).
  • Existing relationships in the construction market, including building owners, general contractors, mechanical contractors, electrical contractors, MEP consultants, and technology consultants.
  • A strong, aggressive, and people‑focused sales leader with outstanding strategic selling skills.
Hiring Salary Range

USD  –  per year (salary determined by experience, knowledge, skills, and market data). This position includes a competitive benefits package.
