The Veterinary District Sales Manager is accountable for execution of the Vet Business Unit strategy and achievement of business objectives/KPI’s by identifying new opportunities and Vet influencers within a defined geography. They utilize market data and drive a sustained Vet ecosystem by leveraging innovation and digital solutions. This role works cross‑functionally and is responsible for developing new business in under‑penetrated urban centers and clinics to grow relevance, access to clinics and Vet recommendation.
It is an individual contributor role making daily calls in the field to customers in the assigned territory.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 2+ years sales experience, preferably B2B
- Veterinary clinic experience preferred
- Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral and written)
- Possession of a driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Overnight travel required, occasional weekends for conferences; approximately 20‑30% travel
- Translate knowledge of our products, categories, customer and market data into new business opportunities (within the market and underdeveloped clinics).
- Prioritize time based on opportunity and level of clinic influence in the market.
- Self‑starter who can translate customer pain points into experimenting with creative, new ideas to bring value to the clinics.
- Understand clinic operational needs to provide strategic advice and help clinics build their online presence by working closely with them in a consultative role.
- Develop and maintain high technical competency for eCommerce‑related tools and various platforms that generate diverse revenue for clinics.
- Establish and grow relationships with key decision‑makers and influencers within urban centers.
- Develop and deliver compelling, data‑driven presentations to address the unique needs of the Veterinary staff.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholder groups across the BU & organization, balancing the needs and interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders (market influencers, transversal, Account teams, Digital Sales, Inside Accounts and Scientific Affairs). Build partnerships and work collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
- Effectively execute the Veterinary Business Unit sales strategy within urban centers.
- Work in a cross‑functional team‑based environment, adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever‑changing environments.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with Line Manager and routinely adjust strategies, tactics and investments based on changing needs to maximize territory performance.
- Budget and reporting:
Manage an expense and sales budget; complete CRM call reports, expense reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner.
