Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, Business Development
Position Summary
The Field Service Aftermarket Sales is responsible for growing revenue and profitability from aftermarket products and services by leveraging field service operations, customer relationships, and service teams. This role develops strategies to increase sales of parts, new installation services, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and other value‑added services throughout the customer lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Drive aftermarket sales growth through service agreements, spare parts, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Identify revenue opportunities during customer service interactions and site visits.
- Develop and execute aftermarket sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Manage customer accounts and build long‑term relationships.
- Generate quotations, proposals, and contract renewals.
Field Service Collaboration
- Partner with field service technicians to identify sales opportunities.
- Train service personnel on opportunity identification and lead generation.
- Establish processes for capturing and converting technician‑generated leads.
- Support technicians with customer‑facing sales conversations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Conduct regular customer reviews and business planning meetings.
- Analyze customer equipment performance and recommend improvements.
- Promote preventive maintenance programs and service agreements.
- Address customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction levels.
Market & Revenue Analysis
- Monitor aftermarket sales performance and profitability.
- Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and customer needs.
- Forecast sales pipeline and revenue opportunities.
- Develop pricing strategies for parts and service offerings.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, product management, and finance teams.
- Support new product introductions and service offerings.
- Coordinate inventory planning for critical spare parts.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in aftermarket sales, field service, industrial equipment sales, or service management.
- Experience with service contracts, maintenance programs, and technical product sales.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue and margin targets.
Skills
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation abilities.
- Technical aptitude with industrial, mechanical, electrical, or automation systems.
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365).
- Data analysis and forecasting skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
