Virginia Transformer is seeking an accomplished Director of Field Service & Aftermarket Sales to lead and expand our Field Service and Aftermarket organization from our Roanoke, Virginia headquarters. This senior leadership role owns operational performance, commercial growth, profitability, and customer experience across the field service and aftermarket business.
The Director will lead customer installations, field service execution, aftermarket sales, service contracts, customer escalations, and Voice of the Customer initiatives. Success requires technical service leadership, commercial capability, operational discipline, financial accountability, and exceptional customer focus.
Key Responsibilities Field Service Operations & Execution- Provide overall leadership for field service scheduling, deployment, execution, and personnel performance.
- Ensure installations, commissioning, repairs, troubleshooting, warranty work, and other field activities are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Drive urgency and accountability for customer issues, ensuring rapid response and resolution.
- Optimize technician utilization, travel, equipment availability, productivity, and field resources.
- Develop and continuously improve field service procedures while maintaining visibility into projects, costs, schedules, risks, and resolutions.
- Lead Aftermarket Sales with responsibility for revenue, margin, and profitable growth.
- Develop and execute an aftermarket growth strategy addressing the expanding service requirements of the North American transformer market.
- Expand service offerings across the installed transformer base, including service agreements, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, replacement components, and technical support.
- Build a disciplined process for identifying, qualifying, quoting, closing, and executing aftermarket opportunities.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and customers to identify new revenue opportunities and establish pipeline, conversion, margin, and retention metrics.
- Own the financial performance and profitability of Field Service and Aftermarket Sales.
- Manage labor, travel, equipment, material, subcontractor, and service-related costs while driving on-time completion and protecting margins.
- Establish financial and operational KPIs and identify margin improvements through pricing, utilization, productivity, contract management, and execution.
