Overview
Archer Western is currently seeking a Carpenter for the Wasena Bridge Replacement in Roanoke, VA
. The Carpenter constructs, erects, and installs wooden structures using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects. - Makes measurements and marks guidelines on the working surface to prepare for laying down work.
- Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and additional structures.
- Assists with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs when required.
- Uses a carpenter’s belt with hand tools, power tools, and other woodworking machinery.
- 3–5 years of verifiable experience preferred.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in adverse weather conditions.
- Compliance with all safety policies and procedures and effective communication with co‑workers and supervisors.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
