Master Truck Technician – Electrical & Systems Diagnostics (Maintenance)
The Master Truck Technician Electrical & Systems Diagnostics is responsible for overseeing vehicle and equipment maintenance while performing advanced diagnostics and complex mechanical and electrical repairs. This role serves as a lead technical resource within the shop, supporting junior staff, managing repair workflows, coordinating parts procurement, and ensuring all gasoline, diesel, and other powered equipment remains safe, compliant, and operationally ready.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDiagnose vehicle and equipment conditions through advanced inspections, testing, and diagnostic procedures to identify worn, damaged, or failing components. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and availability, including component upgrades, corrosion control, and winterization procedures. Remove, repair, adjust, overhaul, assemble, disassemble, and replace major assemblies and systems, including:
- Engines, power and drivetrain systems
- Electrical systems
- Air conditioning and climate control
- Fuel and emission systems
- Brake, steering, and suspension systems
- Hydraulic systems and traction units
Conduct machine shop operations as needed and complete precise adjustments and alignments, including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, and clutches. Verify vehicle and equipment performance through test drives and operational testing; adjust systems and controls to ensure optimal performance. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by testing engines and systems against safety, emissions, and combustion standards.
Accurately document all inspections, services, and repairs in maintenance records. Maintain shop equipment by following operating procedures, troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs. Stay current on industry standards and advancements by participating in training opportunities and reviewing technical and regulatory publications. Support department goals by taking ownership of responsibilities, adapting to new tasks, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
- Class A level diesel mechanical expertise

Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, grease, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy components. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
