Maintenance Mechanic II

Full time, Shift: Day, Facility: 3 Riverside Cir - Roanoke. Requisition Number: R156475.

Perform basic and intermediate mechanical & preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities; investigate need for repairs; collaborate with other facility personnel; receive assignments, review work orders, priority status, and time schedules; identify and secure appropriate supplies and equipment; perform basic maintenance duties; use hand and power tools; repair or replace defective devices; maintain and repair machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, and manuals;

document and maintain records; update practices to remain compliant; research new techniques and make recommendations.

• Education:
  
  High school graduate or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school with a maintenance curriculum preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Three years of maintenance experience required; may be gained through on-the-job training or apprenticeship.
• Licensure, certification, or registration:
  Valid Virginia Driver's License preferred (required for hospital positions, required for Property Maintenance positions).

  Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Good interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to communicate with co-workers; ability to use a computerized work order control system; ability to maintain records and follow verbal and written instructions; may be asked to provide basic general-purpose maintenance tools.
• Emergency personnel status during emergency conditions.
• Criminal History check required for Property Maintenance positions.
• May be asked to provide own transportation and travel to other sites; may be required to work at other Carilion facilities to meet staffing needs.
