Work is conducted on-site at customer locations.
As a HVAC Field Technician Apprentice, you will assist HVAC Field Technicians in the installation and repair of environmental control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts. You will establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers, and perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, site surveys, service requests, and equipment modifications as needed.
You will assist in end-to-end testing, startup, commissioning, and servicing of assigned projects.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment at customer locations.
- Coordinate with supervising technician/project manager to understand installation and repair requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
- Use cutting edge software and hand tools to diagnose and repair units following blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets.
- Be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2+ years of HVAC experience preferred.
- Technical school or formal training preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, no major traffic violations (including DUI within 5 years or multiple infractions within 3 years).
- EPA certification preferred (HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.).
- Ability to work in diverse conditions, tolerate mechanical equipment rooms, extreme weather, electrical shock risk, and heavy lifting (10‑40 lbs regularly, occasionally >40 lbs).
Hourly: $18.36 – $24.97
