Lawrence Companies is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician Specialist to join our growing maintenance team in Roanoke, VA. We are looking for a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities, a solid work ethic, and hands‑on experience repairing and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and equipment.

What You’ll Do- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs
- Work on engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, suspension, steering, brakes, fuel systems, and emissions systems
- Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and manufacturer service manuals
- Complete repairs safely, accurately, and in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed repair documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Support shop cleanliness, safety standards, and OSHA compliance
- 3+ years of diesel technician experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems, ECM diagnostics, hydraulics, and air brake systems
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and service software
- CDL preferred or ability to obtain one
- Must provide your own tools
- Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, crawl, stoop, climb, and work in varying shop and weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment
