Summary / Objective

The Boiler Service Technician will service, troubleshoot, repair, clean, and maintain heating and cooling equipment and related systems for commercial and industrial customers.

Essential Functions
  • Service boilers and equipment for commercial/industrial customers
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, maintain or modify heating systems and equipment including high‑pressure steam, low‑pressure steam, and hot water systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement and modifications requested by customers
  • Prepare on‑site installation and repairs – examining building layout, anticipating challenges, identifying materials and coordinating on‑site work
  • Document, complete, and maintain paperwork for each job
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant experience cleaning and servicing boilers in a commercial/industrial environment, or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
  • 4+ years of practical experience in general HVAC work
  • Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical control systems
  • Understanding of fuel oil, natural gas, and propane
  • Must be able to multi‑task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
Work Environment
  • Work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
  • Exposure to moderate/high noise levels
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles including dust
  • Work in confined spaces or at high heights
Physical Demands
  • Routinely use construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
  • Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Identify all colors of a color‑coded cable/wire and perform visual tasks requiring close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment
Travel
  • May require travel (typically not overnight)
Preferred Qualifications
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of HVAC 20's equipment
  • Journeyman's or Master license
  • Prior military experience
