Preventative Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Full-Time Day Shift: approximate shift times of 7am to 5pm. Starting wages based on experience. Preventative Maintenance Technician based out of the Roanoke Shop in Roanoke, VA, responsible for performing PM duties, routine maintenance, and light repairs on aggregate/mining equipment, servicing construction equipment across the Roanoke area.

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under company safety policies and practices.
• Must have a valid DOT health card or be able to obtain.
• Minimum of three years of experience working on equipment.
• Ability to change oil, change filters, take oil samples, complete sample documentation, and submit for analysis.
• Ability to plan maintenance in a coordinated method that doesn’t interfere with production schedule.
• Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on mining and quarry equipment.
• Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
• Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
• Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
• Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
• Weekend work/overtime may be required.
• Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
• Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet.
• Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
• Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
