Your mission
Own electrical automation and mechanical reliability across a 24/7 operation. Elevate safety, modernize controls, and coach a skilled team to deliver sustained performance.
Core responsibilities
Instill an uncompromising safety culture: uphold NEC, OSHA, LOTO, high‑voltage, BRC food safety, GMP, and product quality standards; lead regular safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments.
Direct, mentor, and develop Electricians, Mechanics, and Electro‑Mechanical Technicians.
Design and run preventative/predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and increase equipment life.
Hands‑on troubleshooting of complex mechanical, electrical, and control systems on high‑speed production/steel‑forming equipment.
Provide 24/7 leadership and technical response during failures, startups, shutdowns, and emergencies.
Deliver PLC/HMI programming and process control expertise; execute upgrades from Allen‑Bradley PLC‑5 to Control Logix and fine‑tune automation for peak performance.
Partner with operations to lift reliability and throughput; measure and report KPIs for electrical and maintenance performance.
Plan and commission mechanical, electrical, and automation projects from concept through completion.
Review electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications to ensure code compliance and reliability.
Coordinate external contractors and vendors for capital projects and upgrades.
Lead MRO governance: establish min/max levels, guide technical purchasing and part selection, maintain accurate inventory, and secure availability of critical spares.
Manage budgets, spare parts, and shop supplies; maintain complete records (work orders, logs, inspections, documentation).Model Trivium’s core values and internal controls; act with integrity, respect, and stewardship of company resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in fast‑paced manufacturing.
2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred.
Experience in steel manufacturing and/or food processing is a strong plus.
Expertise with AC/DC motors, VFDs, pneumatic/electronic instrumentation, and wireless technologies.
Fluent in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals; proficient with CMMS.Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills; detail‑oriented and results‑focused.
Ability to excel under pressure in a 24/7 environment.
Physical demands and environment
On‑floor role with frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and hands‑on tasks.
Frequent reaching; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional work in non‑permit‑required confined spaces (unless otherwise trained).Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (no continual lifting); requires good hand/eye coordination.
Close and distance vision, plus color recognition, are required.
Loud environment—hearing protection and assigned PPE are mandatory.
Temperatures may range from below 40°F to above 90°F; environment may include fumes, dust, and odors.
