Maintenance Technician IV
The City of Roanoke is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to perform skilled mechanical work on heavy and light power-driven equipment. The successful candidate will serve as expert resource in the guidance and instruction of the work of subordinate mechanics and service workers and diagnose, adjust, repair and service the full range of power-driven equipment used by the City including diesel or gasoline engine equipment, air compressors, pump apparatus and aerial truck hydraulic systems.
High school diploma or GED; one to three years related experience and/or training in repairing heavy power-driven equipment; diesel and gasoline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid appropriate driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. State Inspection license & Class B CDL preferred or have a Class B CDL within 12 months of employment. Must attain three ASE certifications within 2 years of employment.
Required to be on-call after regular work hours on a standby basis.
