Airport Operations Officer

This onsite position puts you at the center of the action-helping to keep airport operations safe, efficient, and compliant with federal regulations while supporting the travel experience of thousands of passengers each day.

• Work closely with air traffic control, airlines, and airport departments.
• Play a key role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and satisfaction of the traveling public.

• Monitor daily airport operations and ensure compliance with federal safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections of runways, taxiways, and airport facilities.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and operational issues with professionalism.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to keep operations running seamlessly.
• Support passenger services and represent the airport with a calm, problem-solving approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, as you'll be the link between multiple airport partners.
• Solid problem-solving ability to act quickly and effectively in dynamic situations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to stay calm, make sound decisions, and lead during emergencies.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required (equivalent education/experience may be considered).
• Knowledge of FAR Parts 139 and 77 and TSR Part 1542 is required.
• AAAE ACE (Ops), Certified Member (C.M.), or AMPAP/IAP designation desirable.
• Experience working in a part 139 certified airport environment preferred

• Must meet TSA security requirements for unescorted access.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays
• Valid Virginia driver's license and insurable driving record required.
