Inventory Clerk - 1st Shift

Onsite role requiring full‑time presence at Roanoke, VA office.

The Inventory Clerk will generate cycle count batches daily and provide direction to the Inventory Cycle Counter(s). This position will review and analyze completed cycle count batches and research discrepancies, and perform correcting adjustments as necessary. The Clerk will perform physical counts of materials and finished goods on a daily basis based on the ABC reporting structure, verify, compare and document actual counts against system quantities, and perform physical location verification audits.

The position will also serve as backup for the Inventory Supervisor.

• Generate cycle count batches daily; review, analyze, and research completed batches.
• Perform correcting adjustments for discrepancies as necessary.
• Obtain required approvals based on dollar value of adjustments.
• Perform physical counting of materials and finished goods daily using the radio frequency unit and an order picker forklift, utilizing cycle count and location verification programs.
• Respond to requests from Distribution, Customization, and Customer Service regarding inventory discrepancies.
• Follow cycle‑counting procedures to complete daily tasks and meet the standard of counts per hour.
• Perform other inventory‑related activities as directed to maintain and improve overall inventory accuracy.
• Maintain a clean warehouse by correcting unsafe locations that are cycle counted (e.g., part carton label placement, pallet arrangement, excess wrap).
• Execute Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Service requirements related to inventory destructions and order cancellations.

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of two years related experience in Inventory, Warehousing and Distribution.
• One year of extensive forklift operation (preferably using a stand order picker) with an excellent safety record.
• Methodical, self‑starter with exceptional communication, advanced math, and strong deductive reasoning skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, JDE and DSI.
• Organized and accurate work habits.
• Team player, willing to rotate between warehouse as a driver and office.
• Qualified forklift and order picker operator.
• Capable of lifting 10‑15 lbs routinely and 35‑50 lbs occasionally, and able to stand and work in awkward positions.
• Willing to travel to outside facilities for cycle counts.
• BI experience in creating reports or queries desired.

The base pay range for this position is $22.00 per hour; the actual offer may vary depending on skills, experience, job‑related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short‑term incentives.
