This role is an Onsite Role: Full‑time presence required at the Roanoke, VA office.
OverviewThe Inventory Clerk will generate cycle count batches daily, provide direction to the Inventory Cycle Counter(s), review and analyze completed cycle count batches, research discrepancies, perform correcting adjustments, and verify actual counts against system quantities. The clerk will also perform physical counts of materials and finished goods based on the ABC reporting structure, verify physical location against the system, and serve as backup for the Inventory Supervisor.
Responsibilities- Generate cycle count batches daily and review, analyze, and research completed batches.
- Perform correcting adjustments for discrepancies, as necessary.
- Obtain required approvals based on dollar value of adjustments.
- Conduct physical counting of materials and finished goods using the Radio Frequency unit and order picker forklift, utilizing cycle count and location verification programs.
- Respond to inventory discrepancy requests from Distribution, Customization, and Customer Service.
- Follow cycle counting procedures to complete daily tasks and achieve daily standard of counts per hour.
- Perform other inventory‑related activities to maintain and improve overall inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean warehouse by correcting unsafe locations, ensuring proper pallet placement, correct labeling, and removing excess packaging.
- Execute Finance, Supply Chain and Customer Service requirements related to inventory destruction and order cancellations.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of two years related experience in Inventory, Warehousing, and Distribution.
- At least one year of extensive forklift operation, preferably a stand‑order picker, with an excellent safety record.
- Methodical, self‑starter with exceptional communication and advanced math skills.
- Strong deductive reasoning and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, JDE, and DSI.
- Organized and accurate work habits.
- Team player willing to rotate between warehouse (driver) and office.
- Qualified forklift operator capable of lifting 10‑15 lbs regularly and 35‑50 lbs occasionally.
- Able to work and stand on feet all day; sometimes required at awkward positions.
- Willing to travel to outside facilities for cycle counts.
Base pay range: $22.00 /hour (may vary based on skills, experience, knowledge, and location). Certain positions may also qualify for short‑term incentives.
