Trauma Hospitalist (APP)

We are seeking a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a trauma hospitalist rounding role. This position operates exclusively in-house with no call requirements. You will serve as the primary provider for trauma patients, functioning with high autonomy while supported by 24‑hour on-site Trauma Surgeons.

• Dates of Coverage: May – July.
• Schedule: Full-time, NOC shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
• Setting: Level I Adult & Pediatric Trauma Center.
• Patient Load: 10–14 non-ICU patients or 6 ICU patients; 2–15 admissions/ED consults per 24 hours.
• EMR: EPIC.

• Primary Care: Function as the attending for all patient conditions (no internal hospitalist support).
• Rounding: Daily rounding and comprehensive management of trauma patients.
• ED Response: Respond to trauma alerts, handle admissions, and facilitate discharges.
• Procedures: Perform or assist with chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, and minor suturing.
• Vent Management: Manage both invasive and non-invasive ventilation.

• Certification: Board Certified ACNP, AGNP, or PA-C (No FNPs).
• Licensure: Active Minnesota State License and DEA.
• Life Support: Current ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient APP experience, preferably in Trauma, ICU, or Orthopedics.
• Documentation: A Self-Query NPDB report pulled within the current month is required for submission.
