The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to patients and families. The focus is on independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN develops and revises the patient’s plan of care, coordinates interdisciplinary care, delegates activities, and participates in shared accountability and decision‑making for nursing practices. Variations in duties may exist based on the assigned unit(s).
Responsibilities- Execute Standards of Nursing Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and revise individualized care plans.
- Coordinate care among disciplines and delegate activities appropriately.
- Participate in shared accountability and decision‑making for nursing practices.
- Implement personal leadership qualities and skills to improve practice standards and the environment of care.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience (required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Additional certification preferred (e.g., CEN, CCRN, etc.)
- Knowledge of professional nursing principles and practice
- Knowledge of nursing ethics
Licensure/Certification
- Current RN license in the State of Minnesota (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (pre‑employment requirement)
- NRP, TNCC, ACLS, NRP as applicable (for applicable units)
- Current Wisconsin RN license (if applicable)
- EMT (if applicable)
- PALS (Air Care RNs)
- CEN, CCRN, or CFRN within 18 months of hire date for Air Care RNs
- Valid Class D driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record and annual proof of auto insurance (if required)
- PEARS (if applicable)
