Job Overview

This position is located at the Good Samaritan Society - Specialty Care Community, a 96‑bed rehabilitation facility serving young adult and geriatric residents following hospitalization or serious illness.

- Collaborate with inter‑professional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Document resident history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Utilize technology to enhance quality resident care and support inter‑professional collaboration.
- Effectively delegate to and supervise unlicensed personnel, ensuring safe and competent care delivery.
- Assume overall nursing accountability for resident assignments and serve in leadership roles on department/organizational task forces and committees.
- Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise, applying appropriate age‑ and population‑specific standards.
- Display effective communication skills to collaborate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with peers, inter‑professional colleagues, residents, and families.
- Apply strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills to analyze data and respond appropriately to changing situations.
- Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide education, triage, and perform various nursing interventions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred; graduation from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA) required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience preferred.
- Current unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring, or multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
- Maintenance of required department‑specific competencies and certifications; a valid driver’s license may be required depending on location.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience with Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is preferred but not required.
