Reporting Relations

Accountable and reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce, and Night Stock Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, addressing them by name whenever possible.
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, and loading or unloading heavy items.
  • Take note of customer suggestions or requests and perform tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
  • Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
  • Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product.
  • Monitor for miss‑picked items, review product outs, wrong deliveries, and other discrepancies.
  • Organize stock for greatest efficiency, clean, and restock damaged items.
  • Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
  • Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
  • Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
  • Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
  • Report to work on schedule, on time, and complete the scheduled number of hours.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in other areas of store as needed.
  • Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
  • Ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
Education and Experience
  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to physically perform very heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

This position is exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazard, and chemicals/solvents daily. The position is also occasionally exposed to temperature extremes and the potential for electrical shock.

Anticipated hourly starting wage: $13.50 to $16.80 depending on experience.
