Robbinsdale is seeking energetic coaches for our summer youth sports programs!
This role is specifically designed for weekday evening programming
, making it a great fit for those looking for flexible part‑time work. Coaches will be trained to lead 6‑week sessions in our Soccer, Baseball, and Flag Football programming as well as assist with other recreation events during the months of May - August. Programming will take place at Lakeview Terrace, Lee, and Manor Parks, as well as other Robbinsdale locations.
Objective:
Under supervision of the Recreation Programs Coordinator – Youth Sports or their assignee, individuals assist in leading activities and monitoring facilities of assigned various youth sports and other programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manages daily activities at program locations.
- Communicates any site concerns to supervisor.
- Participate in all scheduled staff training sessions, orientations, and meetings throughout the summer.
- Under the direction of the coordinator, assists with the facilitation of activities for children of all ages.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with youth of varying ages.
- Follows established policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Develops positive relationships with staff, participants, and parents.
- Follows established procedures in emergency situations.
- Minimum age: 15 years
- Previous experience working with children in a recreation or camp setting, prior playing, officiating, or coaching experience.
- Knowledge of recreation and sports activities.
- 2-3 years of experience working with youth, preferably in a recreation setting.
- Current certification in Babysitting, Officiating, CPR and/or First Aid
Will be working primarily outside, including various weather conditions.

- Tolerance of sunlight
- Good vision and hearing
- Ability to assist with activities and stay engaged with youth of varying ages
- Ability to perform large and small motor skills related to the position
