Role Description The Machinist role at Gulf Coast Manufacturing LLC is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Robertsdale, AL. The Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC machines to produce parts and components used in doctoring and shower nozzle equipment for the paper industry. Day‑to‑day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools and materials, measuring and inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications, and making adjustments to machining operations as needed.
The Machinist will also perform routine equipment maintenance, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, reliable workmanship, and adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.
- Candidates should possess strong machining skills, including experience with manual and CNC machines, tooling, and precision measuring instruments.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions, with the ability to follow specifications accurately.
- Candidates should possess skills in quality control and inspection, including using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools to verify tolerances.
- Candidates should possess skills in equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep machines operating safely and efficiently.
- Relevant experience in a machine shop or industrial manufacturing environment, preferably supporting equipment for heavy industry, is beneficial.
- Ability to work safely, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area is required.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, dependability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology is a plus.
