Role summary
Janitorial associates ensure customers have a great first and last impression of our stores. They look after the cleanliness of the store from the parking lot to restrooms to the receiving area and maintain a clean and safe environment.
What you’ll doYou play a major role in how our customers feel when they leave the store. You might be the first, last, and sometimes only associate a customer interacts with, so it’s important to smile, greet, and thank every customer. You act as an ambassador for Walmart, working in a fast‑paced environment that can be intense, especially in evenings, weekends, and holiday seasons.
Your tasks include scanning items, explaining prices, bagging items, counting cash back, and keeping your area clean while juggling multiple responsibilities.
- Smile, greet, and thank customers with a positive attitude.
- Stand for long periods while checking out customers quickly and accurately.
- Keep your area clean and presentable.
- Answer customer questions and help them with their needs.
- Be available to assist associates across the store as needed.

- Operate equipment to move carts from the parking lot to inside the store.
- Clean restrooms, sales floor, and parking lot as needed.
