Initiate and/or make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, discipline, promotion and evaluation of Deli Bakery Department personnel;
Orient and train new Deli Bakery Department associates and retrain existing associates;
Develop a fair weekly labor schedule for the department;
Maintain sales, gross profit and labor projections;
Supervise ordering and merchandising of deli products and supplies;
Greet customers and address questions/complaints;
Ensure compliance with State Health Department requirements;
Oversee cleanliness and safety of department areas and equipment;
Conduct department meetings to review merchandising and operational problems;
Communicate with store manager on problems and merchandising decisions
