The successful candidate will be someone who is meticulous and takes pride in the accuracy of their work. Being able to build relationships with customers and coworkers as well as be a trusted advisor is essential. This position spends a significant amount of time in the field so the ability to map out the most productive day is key to meeting our customer’s needs in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude and provide exceptional customer service skills while servicing customers.
- Maintain work areas and jobsites in clean and orderly manner.
- Diagnose window and door issues. Communicate well with the window manager to determine course of action and to order needed parts and supplies.
- Issues can include warranty work, non-warranty work, installation problems, fixes due to mistakes and damage repair.
- Repair windows to include balancers, sash locks, sashes, tilt pins, tilt locks, glass and other parts.
- Repair doors to include handles, locksets, hinges, door sweeps and other parts.
- Install windows and doors following guidelines outlined in the AAMA Master Installer rules and regulations.
- Mull impact windows and doors following manufacturers guidelines.
- Instruct contractors on jobsites on the proper way to assemble and mull impact windows and doors.
- Swap dunnage doors if vendor shipped without proper door to expedite installation.
- Must successfully pass company-provided forklift operator training program and maintain “certification” through safe operation and following of procedures.
- Ensure that parts and supplies needed for a job are correct before leaving for the jobsite.
- Complete all necessary reports; check orders filled, check material received, and complete vehicle inspection forms.
- Load and safely handle orders and needed materials.
- Maintain knowledge of proper identification of inventory items
- Follow the company’s policies as outlined in the company safety program and company employee handbook.
- Comply with specified company dress code.
- Assist supervisor, other employees, and other work areas as needed.
- Perform any other task or duty assigned by the supervisor or manager to include but not limited to:
Loading and receiving product and dispatching.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to set goals and lead a team to meet those goals and quotas.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Results-oriented with strong analytical skills and exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to do basic math, read instructions, and complete forms.
- Communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge and ability of safe lifting techniques and safe work practices
- Knowledge and skills to meet the AAMA Master Installer rules and regulations.
- License and skill to drive a company service van.
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. One year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass a background check and Non-DOT drug test.
- Strength (lift, carry, push, and pull), maximum lift – 100 lbs; frequently lift/carry – up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with manual dexterity
- Vision (acuity, depth perception, field of vision, and accommodation)
- Reach over head to grasp materials
Conditions:
- Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold
- Work with mechanical equipment on a daily basis
- Wear required safety protection
- Work in areas with high noise levels
