This position works on site and must be within commute distance to the work site. The non-union apprentice role is considered to be an entry level helper learning aviation standards, tooling, documentation, and shop procedures. Personnel performing maintenance functions report to the Lead Technician and are responsible for performing maintenance and alteration tasks on civil and government aviation articles in accordance with current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instruction for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
Asample of duties includes but is not limited to:
- Cleaning and teardown
- Parts identification
- Learn IPC/CMM usage
- Learn FAA/repair shop paperwork flow
- Basic disassemble and assembly under supervision
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to satisfy a background investigation to obtain a security clearance required.
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license desired.
- Mechanically inclined
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions as required in a repair station setting.
- Must be familiar with common hand tools.
- Must possess an excellent command of the English language with ability to communicate verbally and in writing. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with employees of the organization.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- In accordance with FAA Part 121 regulations, this position requires the employee to participate in a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). drug-testing program. The testing will be conducted by a drug-testing laboratory that is certified by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), under the National Laboratory Certification Program.
