Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician repairs, maintains, and improves production and facility equipment in a clean, food-grade manufacturing environment. This role focuses primarily on mechanical systems with some electrical responsibilities, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment installation and modification to support continuous and efficient production operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including hydraulic and pneumatic components, pumps, gear reducers, motors, and conveyors.
- Support production operations by assisting with melting, refining, and other tasks as requested by production supervisors or lead operators.
- Install, modify, and maintain production and facility equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Generate, update, and close work orders using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Perform established preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance activities on production and facility equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical experience with approximately 80% mechanical and 20% electrical responsibilities.
- Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gear reducers, motors, and conveyors.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance in an industrial setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with pumps, motors, and conveyor systems.
- Experience using a computer to log repairs and preventive maintenance activities in a computerized maintenance management system.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance practices in a food or similar manufacturing environment.
- Basic electrical maintenance and PLC troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with industrial maintenance in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Comfort working in a hot production environment and adhering to strict hygiene and safety requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Robinson, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
