Walmart is expanding with its third company‑owned milk processing facility to serve over 750 stores across Texas and surrounding states. This state‑of‑the‑art facility will produce high‑quality milk products under Great Value and Member’s Mark, using milk sourced primarily from Texas dairy farmers.
What you’ll do- Maintain highest standards of quality and food safety by monitoring, testing, recording, and reacting on data related to products, production, and processes quality.
- Verify raw materials and finished products are in compliance with federal, state, and company specifications, producing accurate results while multitasking in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
- Carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities, and adapt to change.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, implementing related action plans and the Open Door Policy.
- Maintain knowledge of laboratory functions, including operations, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Cross‑train within the Food Safety QA department.
- Utilize a continuous‑improvement mindset by identifying and correcting opportunities to improve processes, conducting statistical process control and root‑cause analysis, and participating in projects that promote continuous‑improvement methodologies.
- Apply Food Safety and Sanitation Quality Management Systems, root‑cause analysis, statistical process controls, and product quality QA/QC.
- 2 years’ experience in clerical related responsibilities (e.g., filing, data entry) and computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science, Agriculture or related field.
- Fluid milk testing laboratory experience in raw milk sample testing, bottled milk testing, pre‑operations inspections, and swabbing.
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $28.80. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
