St. Anthony Catholic School in Robstown, Texas, is seeking exceptional individuals for the following position:
Substitute Teacher.
The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church.
Key Responsibilities:- As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both your professional and personal life
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
- Instruction:
Implement teacher-prepared lesson plans, deliver curriculum, and maintain academic continuity - Faith & Mission:
Support and model Catholic teachings, Gospel values, and the school's mission and philosophy - Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment using approved discipline methods - Student Supervision:
Oversee students in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, cafeteria, and during activities - Reporting & Communication:
Provide feedback to the regular teacher and alert administration to significant issues, maintaining confidentiality - Administrative Duties:
Follow school procedures, report to the office - Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more
- Ability to maintain composure under duress
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff
- Basic computer/technology skills
- Must be 21 years of age
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Submit to employment required screenings, criminal background, drug screening, and MVR
- Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
- Position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
