Could you make a real difference to a young person preparing to leave Care?

• Support a young person aged 16–21 who is leaving care, helping them to live in a family environment and to prepare for independent adulthood.
• Provide practical support such as cooking, cleaning and budgeting, and assist with accessing Education, Training and Employment.
• Build a positive, supportive relationship with the young person and work with Children’s Services as part of your role.
• Participate in assessments and mandatory training to prepare for the role and to enable effective matching with a suitable young person.
• Offer ongoing support for up to 2 years or longer, depending on the young person’s education status and readiness for independence.

• You must be over 21 years of age and have a spare room in your home.
• You do not need to be a parent; you can be single, married or in a same-sex relationship.
• You should be understanding of any issues the young person may have faced and be willing to work with Children’s Services.
• You will go through an assessment to help match you with the right young person and complete mandatory training.

• Support from a Supported Lodgings Social Worker and inclusion in a Supported Lodgings Whats App group.
• Regular supervision, a 6-weekly Support Group and 24-hour on-call support.
• A supportive yearly review.
• Ongoing guidance to help you make a real difference to the young person.
