Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce.
Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte, Contadina and S&W. We are currently seeking an Accounting Senior Manager.
Under the direct leadership of the Regional Plant Controller, the Accounting Senior Manager is responsible for managing the direct preparation, maintenance and control of all Site financial, cost, asset, production and inventory records in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures. This position is responsible for supervising the accounting team to ensure all accounting processes are followed in accordance with accounting guidelines, including Bill of Material (BOM), inventory costing, production accounting, inventory validation, raw product accounting, month-end accounting close and accurate and timely preparation of financial reports.
This position also serves as the primary verification source for Del Monte internal controls required to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Direct the preparation, maintenance and control of all Site financial, cost, asset, production and inventory records in accordance with corporate accounting policies.
- Provide local, regional, and corporate management teams with timely and accurate financial and operating information including the reporting, forecasting and analysis of cost variances and the review and control of capital expenditures.
- As a member of the Site Management Team, participate in determining current and long-term objectives, plans, programs and budgets to achieve both Site and overall company objectives.
- Direct the preparation and control of annual budget and financial forecasts, including variable and fixed costs, capital spending, Site related miscellaneous income and all balance sheet accounts. Monitor performance against budget to ensure financial objectives are realized. Provide Site, regional and corporate management with necessary information to track and control the timing and amount of all budgeted expenditures.
- Direct monthly, quarterly and fiscal year financial closing activity, in compliance with corporate and SOX guidelines and controls.
- Monitor and control the Site's Balance Sheet to ensure all assets and liabilities are accurately reported and properly utilized. Oversee the maintenance of materials and supplies, finished goods, and vendor managed inventory records to ensure the accuracy of the inventory control system and to minimize carrying costs.
- Maintain appropriate internal controls to safeguard all Site assets and ensure that status for idle or obsolete assets is accurately stated. Provide for adequate segregation of duties and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Direct all local hardware and software related data processing functions, encompassing all accounting software, to ensure effective utilization and user training.
- Direct all raw product accounting functions, where applicable, to ensure accurate record keeping and timely grower payments.
- Supervise, train and develop a competent accounting staff. Identify and develop potential succession candidates at all levels. Perform salary administration, counseling and hiring and discharging activities.
- Direct or assist in the preparation of special studies to determine the financial impact of improved productivity, efficiency or other cost effectiveness opportunities.
Skills Required:
- At least 5-7 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of Finance and Standard Cost.
- Strong work ethic with proven ability to work with deadlines and commitment including occasional weekends.
