POSITION SUMMARYThe Respiratory Therapist Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of RCH, adheres to the organization's Standards of Behavior and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Education/Licensure or credentials- Completed a minimum of one-year technician program at an accredited college for respiratory therapy.
- Successfully completed the National Board for Respiratory Care certification exam and/or registry exams.
- Two years accumulated work experience in a similar job and/or hospital respiratory therapy department.
- The theory of respiratory therapy medicine
- Human anatomy and physiology
- The disease process of the body to carry out the values of respiratory therapy agents.
- Ability to handle a variety of duties which may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances.
- Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively from oral and written directions.
- Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff.
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication.
- Physical and intellectual capacity to carry out treatment programs and documentation as required by the position.
- The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Constant kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional need to lift patients.
- Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
