Forklift Operator Warehouse

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Rochelle, Illinois — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• $20.50 per hour
• $0.75 per hour for nights worked
• Second Shift, Monday to Friday from 5:30 pm to 4:00 am with one day off during the week and weekends off unless mandated.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• At least one year of warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience (preferred)
• Valid forklift operator’s license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Team‑player orientation and ability to work in a diverse environment
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a good attendance record
• High initiative and accuracy, even under pressure
• Ability to lift or push/pull up to 35 lb
• Capacity to stand for long periods
• Adherence to health and safety procedures
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

Some positions require employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and background checks as required by the customer.

• Load, pick, pack, ship, and receive goods, including forklift operation
• Perform cycle counting and other inventory control tasks
• Follow performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, staging, and loading for trucks
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours
• Perform additional duties as assigned
