A Registered Professional Nurse promotes and restores patient health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Employee shall perform nursing functions in accordance with the policies, procedures, and objectives of the Nursing Department. The RN’s responsibilities encompass compliance with The Joint Commission standards, CMS, OSHA, IDPH, the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and state regulations.
Education- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
- Current Illinois RN license
- Currently CPR certified
- Previous telemetry experience desirable
- ACLS and PALS certification within first six months of employment
- Pass telemetry test within first six months of employment
- Demonstrate competency of skills designated by the Manager of Inpatient Services by exam and/or demonstration
- Good physical and mental health, able to work under pressure
- Good teaching and communication skills
- Ability to operate designated computer equipment
- Complete a basic dysrhythmia class annually
- Work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Long periods of standing, quick movement, agility, and fast response time
- Direct patient contact with potential exposure to blood and body fluids
- Frequent repositioning of patients
- Perform CPR – a strenuous activity
- Work accurately and effectively with oral and written directions and communication
- Cooperate with other hospital staff
- Continuous kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting, occasional lifting of patients and objects up to 25 lbs; lift not more than 50 lbs with assistance
