Purpose of Position

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf‑stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte, Contadina and S&W. We are currently seeking an Electrician Technician. The Electrician Technician provides support to electrical maintenance operations across the facility, ensuring optimal performance of electronic equipment and systems.

This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving PLC systems, electrical controls, and plant equipment to maximize operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety, GMP, and regulatory standards.

Accountabilities
  • Support electrical maintenance activities for all electronic‑based equipment across the facility.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade PLC programs to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Conduct audits of PLC systems and implement technological improvements.
  • Assist with electrical maintenance and capital projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure proper calibration and performance of electronic controls, including seamers and thermal processing systems.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and management to maintain electrical parts inventory and supplies.
  • Provide input on electrical maintenance needs (short‑term and long‑term).
  • Support training and development of maintenance staff in electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams on maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and communication related to maintenance activities.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and DMPS activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills Required

  • Must pass a Multi‑Craft Electrical Aptitude Test
  • Reliable attendance required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Required Education/Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in:
    • Basic Electricity
    • Industrial Electricity
    • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting
    • Industrial Instrumentation
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and power distribution
  • Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment
  • Experience with PLC programming, diagnostics, and system optimization
  • Experience supporting training and development of maintenance teams
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade PLC programs and logic
  • Ability to conduct audits of PLC systems and implement technological improvements
  • Experience supporting electrical maintenance and capital projects within timelines and budgets
  • Knowledge of electronic controls related to seamer performance and thermal processing calibration
  • Ability to manage and maintain electrical parts inventory and supplies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across a wide range of electrical and control systems
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ability to support and train maintenance staff on electrical systems and PLC operations
  • Strong collaboration skills with supervisors, vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
