Job Description

STEM Camp Teacher Temporary Summer Learning Program

Professional, temporary teaching staff are needed to teach the STEM camp for grades 3-5 at Rochester Community Schools. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until the positions are filled.

Teachers will be expected to implement predetermined STEM lessons for students across areas such as construction, manufacturing, and health sciences. They will use instructional techniques that will improve student achievement. Students will rotate through 3 areas each day. Teachers will be responsible for one area and teach 3 different sections each day
. Prior STEM teaching is not required. Classes will be mixed-grades with a 1:10 ratio

The actual number of positions depends on enrollment.

University Hills Elementary

Session: June 15th – June 25th (M‑TH)

Staff

Hours:

8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Student

Hours:

9 am - 12 pm

Mandatory Staff Meeting and room prep: June 12th (9:00 am – 11:00 am)

Cleanup: June 25 (12:30 pm - 1 pm)

Qualifications
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Desire to work with students who need academic challenges.
  • Must be available to work the entire length of the program.

Salary: $1,725 stipend, contingent on all designated working days; it will be adjusted accordingly if any working days are unmet. $50/hr x 34.5 hours.

Selection of an individual to fill these temporary positions will be determined by the Summer Learning Program administrators based upon applicant experience, qualifications and professional attributes.
