Job Description
Summary:
The Department of Communication, Journalism, and Public Relations invites applicants for the positions of Lecturer and Special Lecturer to instruct courses in American Sign Language (ASL). The ideal candidate will be an experienced ASL instructor, has an extensive knowledge of Deaf culture, and has demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the academic year.
This posting may or may not result in the hiring of an applicant. Pre-employment screening includes verification of academic credentials and background check.
Minimum Qualifications:
MS/MA in ASL, Deaf Education, or Deaf Culture/Deaf Studies or related field.
