Controller | Senior Manufacturing Finance Leader
$145,000 – $165,000 Base
Our client is a rapidly growing defense manufacturer supporting major prime contractors and OEMs. Significant contract awards and continued expansion have created the need for a true financial leader to support the next phase of the company's evolution.
This is not a maintenance Controller role. It is a hands-on, working Controller position with executive visibility and strategic influence.
The opportunity blends hands-on technical accounting depth with operational finance leadership and executive partnership. It is ideal for a working Controller who wants to influence strategy while remaining close to the numbers.
This role requires someone who is nimble, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a business with constantly evolving reporting requirements and growth-driven complexity.
The RoleReporting directly to the President, the Financial Controller will serve as the senior financial leader for the U.S. entity. In a lean accounting environment, this leader will own day-to-day accounting while also serving as a key advisor to department heads and the executive team.
- Leading all accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll oversight, inventory & cost accounting)
- Driving monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Managing multi-entity and international reporting requirements
- Delivering financial results to the global parent organization
- Leading budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis
- Coaching department leaders on financial performance and interpretation of results
- Strengthening controls, systems, and reporting processes
- Ensuring compliance within a regulated defense manufacturing environment
- 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership (Controller / Finance Manager)
- Manufacturing accounting experience required
- Experience in international reporting environments or complex financial reporting
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge
- Advanced Finance ERP and Excel proficiency
- Defense, aerospace, or government contracting experience strongly preferred
- CPA preferred, not required
