At Chief Financial Credit Union,
collections looks a little different.

Of course, our goal is to resolve delinquency and protect the Credit Union. But we also know there's a person behind every past‑due account — and the right conversation can make a real difference.

We're looking for an experienced Collections Specialist II who knows how to balance empathy with accountability. Someone who can ask for payment, negotiate solutions, hold members accountable, and take appropriate collection action when necessary — while still treating every member with dignity and respect.

If you have experience in collections, loan servicing, lending, banking, or credit unions and want to use those skills in a member‑focused environment, we'd love to meet you.

As a Collections Specialist II
, you'll manage delinquent consumer loans and deposit accounts while working directly with members to determine the best path forward.

You'll:

• Contact members regarding delinquent loans and accounts and work toward bringing accounts current.
• Talk with members about their financial circumstances and identify realistic repayment solutions
  .
• Negotiate and establish payment arrangements and follow up on commitments.
• Analyze financial situations and determine appropriate next steps when traditional repayment arrangements aren't successful.
• Manage credit reporting disputes and negative deposit accounts.
• Prepare accounts for repossession or legal action when other collection efforts have been exhausted.
• Monitor accounts for potential fraud or other concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, member conversations, commitments, and follow‑up.
• Work toward individual and department collection goals while providing professional, respectful member service.

This isn't a role where every account or every conversation looks the same.
Good judgment matters.

We're looking for someone who already understands the fundamentals of collections and is ready to handle more complex accounts and conversations.

You may be a great fit if you:

• Have previous collections, lending, loan servicing, banking, credit union, or financial services experience

• Are comfortable discussing delinquency and confidently asking for payment.
• Can balance member service with accountability

• Know how to negotiate, problem‑solve, and work toward mutually workable solutions.
• Understand when an account requires additional collection action.
• Communicate confidently and professionally by phone and in writing.
• Can manage multiple accounts, follow‑up dates, commitments, and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and pay close attention to detail.
• Are comfortable working toward individual and department performance expectations.
• Handle confidential and sensitive financial information professionally.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
